When we are infants, we naturally breathe from the diaphragm, gently expanding our abdomen, bringing our breath to our lives in the most natural and important way. As we age, we unconsciously learn to breathe shallowly by tightening our bodies and holding our breath to avoid feeling painful or unsafe feelings. We also hold our breath and breathe shallowly because we take on false beliefs that we are bad or unworthy and undeserving of life. These physical and emotional patterns become ingrained in our breathing and become deeply habitual over time.
Our breath is the only system we have that can be either voluntary or involuntary. Thus it is a connecting force between the conscious and unconscious aspects of our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. This is why the way we breathe unconsciously can keep our stress patterns in place OR used consciously, it can set them free, which calms and balances the nervous system. Relearning to open our full breathing space helps us to repattern our "defensive” ways of breathing and being to experience living life more fully in the present moment, allowing ease and balance in the body mind system.
Transformational breathing is a technique that frees the flow of breath in the lower and upper abdomen, chest, shoulders, and throat as well as relaxing any tension in both the inhale and exhale. Sabena has found this process to be a powerful method to help individuals access and free the deep holding patterns of tension in their body, mind and emotions and to connect very deeply with themselves. This repatterning or unwinding experience helps the body remember the ease and flow of the natural innate breath we were born with.
During a session Sabena uses her intuitive gifts and healing hands to guide you to a place where your breath is open and flowing and an expanded state of consciousness is experienced. It is at this time that the body organically releases any physical and emotional trauma and the subconscious mind can let go of limiting beliefs and negative conditioning. In this higher state of consciousness deeper truths can be seen and integrated into everyday awareness. This creates an ability to view life’s challenges from a Higher perspective, allowing for greater awareness, freedom and acceptance of the soul’s journey through everyday life.
Sabena is available for group or private sessions.
